A new trend in lip augmentation: lip lifts provide a lasting effect

However, in the past 5 years, a solution aimed at permanent results has become hugely popular, known as a lip lift or upper lip lifting. It is a procedure that is commonly requested by women in larger cities such as New York and Dubai.

Who is a lip lift aimed at?

The distance between the upper lip and the nose exceeding 20 mm is considered too big from the aesthetic perspective. A low upper lip may be a genetic peculiarity or caused by a dental occlusion or age (with age, the distance between the nose and the upper lip grows longer). If fillers are used in an upper lip that is too low, this may result in “duck lips” instead of augmented lips. However, as a lip lift decreases the distance between the upper lip and the nose and creates a permanent plumper “upturned” lip, it might just be the better solution.

Start with the teeth

The face should be looked at as a whole because every little detail and change has its part to play. Before undergoing lip augmentation, the teeth should also be examined – when a person smiles or talks, the teeth should be visible, otherwise, the mouth might look “empty”. The “empty mouth” look is usually caused by the low occlusal position and small teeth or by the area around the teeth being too lush (lips). If the teeth are very small, there is no point in filling the lips up too much because then, the teeth might look as if they are too small and not in proportion with the lips. In such a case, a lip lift is the preferred augmentation method, which will also help to improve the smile and in addition to giving the lips a beautiful shape, this surgical procedure will lift the upper lip higher and will make the teeth more visible.
