areola reductionΒ

The aim of the areola reduction surgery is to give the areolas a circular shape, reduce puffiness and harmonize their size with the breasts.

The unwanted extent, shape or asymmetry of the areolas may be congenital, but changes may also occur during puberty, breastfeeding or traumas.

The surgery helps to:

  • reduce wide areolas
  • correct areolas with unwanted or uneven shape
  • correct tubular areolas

Surgery at Christinas Clinic

In case of the areola reduction surgery, a circular incision is made in the areola to mark its future shape and size. The excess tissue is removed with an incision around the external line. The new and smaller areola is connected to the surrounding skin tissues with a purse-string suture.
