breast reduction

Breast reduction surgery is recommended for women who experience medical issues due to heavy breasts or poor posture. Most women are highly satisfied with the surgery as back, neck and shoulder pains lessen and physical activity increases.

During breast reduction surgery, excess breast tissue is removed and the skin is tightened. As a result, the breast will reduce in size and adapt a firm and healthy shape.

There are three techniques used for breast reduction. The right one for You depends mainly on the needed extent of reduction.

1) Vertical technique or β€žlollipopβ€œ

Vertical technique involves a circular incision around the areola and a vertical incision from the areola to the bottom of the breast, forming the shape of a lollipop. The technique is recommended for the breasts that need small or moderate scale reduction.

2) Horizontal technique

Horizontal technique leaves a circular scar around the areola and a horizontal one under the breast. The technique is used for women with long and narrow breasts, when effective results cannot be achieved with the vertical technique.

3) Anchor technique

This technique involves circular incision around the areola, a vertical incision from the areola to the bottom of the breast and finally a horizontal incision under the breast. It is the most invasive technique and is used for breasts that need major reduction.

The most suitable technique will be decided during the consultation.
