Changes in my body over time – around the eyes and the eyebrow position
We will continue with a series of stories entitled “Changes in My Body over Time”, which will introduce our readers to our main observations on Estonians’ bodies. This time, let’s talk about the face – how to take care of your eye area so, that it won’t get revenge in the future, and what beauty surgeons can do to help to solve the problems.
Facial changes over time:
Aging and environmental conditions change the shape of the face, the volume of the skull and the position of the soft tissues. Fat on the forehead, temples and eyelids is reduced, and unpleasant fat deposits can develop in different areas of the face. But that’s not all – our daily habits and lifestyle also play a huge role. When looking at a person in their 50s or 60s, the frequent frowning or wide smiling at their younger years cannot go unnoticed. A very strong mimic on the forehead and a crooked eyebrow press themselves into the face as wrinkles and pull eyebrows and the upper area of eyelids into wrong position. Reading difficulties and poor eyesight cause the eyes to squint and make you pull the eyebrows down. It is a known truth that emotions are not just transient, but give us our true face – the face we have in old age.
Shifting soft tissues in the favourable way to mimicry:
In order to have a broad eye view, high eyebrows and no excessive skin around the eyes, it is necessary to start caring for, preserving, and shifting soft tissues in a favourable way to the person’s mimicry at a right time. It is extremely important that all procedures are done correctly as any wrong technique can become fatalistic in old age.
There are several methods:
Botulinum toxin injections for eyebrow lift:
For a botulinum toxin injection or a filler injection procedure the client usually comes to the clinic with the desire to broaden the eyelid and eyebrow area and eliminate the first signs of aging. Botulinum toxin injections on the forehead and under the eyebrows are great for reducing muscle tone and help to take another, more appropriate position, for the eyebrows. Therefore, it is very important that the procedures are performed from the beginning by a talented doctor – then you can be sure that the result is a natural and fresh look and the facial expressions are well balanced.
Facial threads for eyebrow and forehead correction, eyelid plastic:
The eyebrow can be very effectively tightened with threads. Anyone who has read and researched about melting facial threads knows that the “threaded” forehead for lifting the curve of the eyebrows provides a long-lasting, natural result. When a thread melts, it will be replaced by a high yield of collagen and scar tissue which still supports the area very well. Eyelid surgery is a good choice to broaden the eye view and remove excess skin around the eyes. Usually, the eyelids have to be lifted once in a lifetime, those with very high eyebrows can have the operation done twice in a lifetime when needed.
Surgical eyebrow lift – forehead-, temporal- or brow lift
Surgical brow lift, also known as forehead lifting or rejuvenation, has recently become very popular. The procedure improves the appearance of the forehead, eyebrows and eyelid by lifting the soft tissues and skin of the forehead and eyebrows. The face gets a more youthful appearance. Wondering which procedure would work best for you?
